Rawtenstall

All Saints Catholic Language School - Rossendale (£920k)

Construction of a new 5-couort sports hall with ancillary changing, storage and plant accommodation with an approximate floor area of 700sqm. The sports hall has a timber finish. The lighting is 400 lux to allow the sports hall to be used for examination purposes. The build is a steel frame construction predominantly in composite metal cladding beneath a curved insulated metal panel roof.

Brigantia Building, University of Wales

Brigantia Building - University of Wales (£4.4m)

Phase 2 & Phase 3 extension to Phase 1 constructed by Pochin seven years ago. Psychology Research Building constructed with a steel frame as opposed to in-situ for Phase 1; thus resulting in significant programme and cost savings for the client.
Deeside College

Deeside College - New Engineering Block (£2.2m)

Extensive classroom facilities overlook a feature steelwork balcony and a communal 'street' area for access. Structure comprises structural steel work with insulated metal clad roof, outer walls combinantion of glazed curtain walling, insulated metal cladding electrically operated sectional overhead doors.

Deeside College, Athletics Facility

Deeside College - Sports Facility (£1.5m)

New facility is sub-divided into two main areas, a refurbished sports hall offering multi-sports including fitness training, badminton, basket ball etc and a new indoor athletics facility with 60m indoor sprint track, long/triple/high jump, pole vault, gymnastics etc constructed to Amateur Athletics association standards.

Ellesmere College

Ellesmere College (£1m)

New 3-storey teaching block constructed within a live college campus for the lower school. A steel frame construction with masonry walls and a Glu Lam beam roof construction under traditional slate roof. Designed to sit sympathetically with existing 19th century main school.

Environmental Centre, University of Wales

Environmental Centre - University of Wales (£6m)

Laboratories and offices with state of the art built-in environmental heat recovery system to provide natural cooling and heating modes during different times of the year. Built with local materials from sustainable sources meeting the BREEAM Excellent requirement.

The Grange Junior School

The Grange Junior School, Hartford (£1.9m)

Extension to existing school comprising 450m2 gymnasium including changing and toilet facilities and a 570m2 building for music, rehearsal studios, science and technology classrooms over two floors. The gym is naturally lit by translucent Kallwall panels on the walls and the roof.

Harper Adams

Harper Adams, Shrewsbury (£3.3m)

Student accommodation built on the live university campus. A traditional construction consisting of 4 individual 2-storey blocks containing 150 bedrooms. This contract was completed 6 weeks early.

John Dalton

John Dalton Buildings - Manchester Metropolitan University (£7.5m)

Demolition of large existing building and erection of new 5-storey IT suite including a 'sound proof' assembly hall with 240 retractable seats to allow use as a exhibition hall. Refurbishment to existing classrooms to faculty offices. Remodelling elements of exisitng structure. Constrution of a new state of the art lecture theatre. All completed within the live university site.

Keele Medical School

Keele Medical School - Keele University (£8m)

Undergraduate medical school and primary care services. 2-storey construction comprising lecture theatre, turorial rooms, laboratories, mortuary and autopsy suite. Built in a curve with a steel frame construction with glazed central atrium and roof dome to light the central core containing the reception area and cafeteria. Two courtyard gardens were created.

Keele University Student Accommodation

Keele University Student Accommodation (£3m)

Further development for Pochin within the Keele Campus to construct 3 & 4-storey blocks with communal area, kitchen/break out rooms. Externally Pochin constructed a courtyard with inlerlocking walkways.

Kiddy Factory, Speke

Kiddy Factory - Speke, Liverpool (£750k)

Day care nursery facilities. Single storey construction with facilities comprising library/sensory room, dining and kitchen area, gym, office and admin facilities, pre-school learning and play areas. Externally facilities include hard and soft landscaping along with a secure play area.

Kingsway, Chester University Kingsway Campus - University of Chester (£2.48m)

Demolition of classrooms & storage building and construction of new state-of-the-art Exhibiiton Hall, Artists Studio, Offices & Sports Changing facility completed to BREEAM Very Good. Externally Pochin created an outdoor teaching area with bespoke seating, a sunken ampitheatre and riased stage with data and power points along with Public Address System.

Malbank School Malbank High School, Olympic Boulevard - Nantwich (£1m)

A 2-storey multi-functional building situated between the existing Sports Hall and Dining Room/Canteen. It will provide a facility that will house a family learning suite, new ICT suite with a Wi-Fi Internet Cafe, health and fitness suites and dining facilities. The access to the building is via a dedicated community reception area with an elevated walk-way which can be used as a spectator's gallery.

Middlewich Primary School

Middlewich Primary School (£1.9 mil)

Demolition of existing and new brick build junior school along with the complete refurbishment of the infant school including new roof, new playground and landscaping.

MMU Crewe - 2

Manchester Metropolitan University - Crewe Student Accommodation (£16.5m)

7no. cruciform blocks each 4-storey high and each with 4 wings containing 1 flat with 7 en-suite study bedrooms, 1 communal loung/kitchen.

28 bedrooms for disabled occupancy and 4 warden flats.

Rydal Penrhos School

Rydal Penrhos School (£2.5m)

Provision of new sports hall and changing facilities along with new dining hall. Works were carried out within the live school campus and close liaison was maintained to ensure the school timetable was not distrupted. An all weather games pitch installation and alterations to the existing school were also carried out.

Ryleys School

Ryleys School (£730k)

Due to the first intake of girls to this school, Pochin carried out the installation of changing and toilet facilities during the school holiday. Further work was also carried out on time and to budget in three separate areas of the school.

Syr Hugh Owen School

Syr Hugh Owen School (£1.7m)

Extension to existing administration block, new refectory, 11 classroom teaching block and 6 classroom practical block. The work was carried out within the confines of the existing school and required close liaison and cocrdination with staff to ensure minimal disruption.

University of Wales, Bangor

University of Wales, Bangor (£3.3m)

2 new build student accommodation blocks constructed from pre-cast concrete walls and floor units and utilising pre-finished bathroom pods. The buildings were clad in a mixture of architectural masonry and curtain walling.

Westwood College

Westwood College, Leek (£525k)

4 new classrooms and a dedicated performing arts classroom. A contemporary design based around a steel frame with multiple caldding elements and a full length roof light system.

Winsford Learning Zone

Winsford Learning Zone (£6.9m)

3-storey college for Mid Cheshire college including classr/seminar rooms, IT Suites, Learning Resource Centre, Hair & Beauty Salon, Gymnasium, Kitchen & Servery, Cafe, Arts Room and surrounding soft landscaping. The facade has 'Forticrete' architectural masonry, pre-patenated copper cladding and teracotta tiled rain screen cladding system with 'Permaroc' render.

Ysgol Gynradd Bodedern School

Ysgol Gynradd Bodedern School (£1m)

A single storey junior school on the site of the previous school which was destroyed by fire. Load-bearing blockwork was used externally to support a timber roof which was finished with Welsh Slate. Underfloor heating was installed thorughout the building. Roof lights wree incorporated to provide natural light and electronically controlled to provide natural ventilaiton.
