Alcontrol Laboratories

ALcontrol Laboratories (£1.4m)

Construction of a 40,000sq.ft industrial unit with laboratory and offices at Hawarden Business Park. Steel framed, metal clad building with external drainage system designed to comply with 'SUDS' directives. Also delivered under the auspice and regulations laid down by AIRBUS due to its close proximity to Speke Airport.

Bizarre

Bizarre Creations, Speke (£1m)

Construction of a new IT Studio for a gaming company. Single storey steel framed, metal clad unit incorporated extensive mechanical and electrical and data requirement. A comprehensive security system was provided throughout the building and a number of 'quiet' rooms incorporated for product development.

Buckshaw Village

Buckshaw Village (£3m)

Construction of 4 detached industrial units with infrastructure to the site for future developments. The buildings were built with a steel frame and clad in a composite panel.

Plot 5a Rennaissance Way, Speke

Chiron Vaccines - Speke, Liverpool (£12.28m)

Large manufacturing facility for the production of the flu vaccine. Comprising a complex steel structure, internal sub stations to house the HV incoming power requirements. A 3-storey office to the front elevation was fitted out to a high spec and laboratory standards were incorporated in the factory.

Cymru Chickens

Cymru Chickens (£3.75m)

New chicken portioning and freezing facility with ancillary offices adjacent to their existing facility. Constructed in a steel frame, metal clad building including a full fit-out. Pochin erected the freezer panels to form a blast freezer, spiral freezer and packaging areas. A specialist epoxy floor was laid with stainless steel drainage channels.

Easter Projects Haydock

Easter Development, Haydock (£4.5m)

6 industrial units totalling 76,000sq.ft. The topography of this site dictated varying floor levels, numerous retaining walls and 468 cubic meters of storm water attenuation constructed in 1800mm diameter tubular steel tanks. Floor levels optimised re-use of subsoil by lime/cement modification reducing disposal off site and number of retaining walls required.

Easter Park, Shell Green

Easter Park - Shell Green (£4.5m)

4 large industrial units totalling 102,000sq.ft. Each unit consists predominately of warehouse space with a sympathetically designed office area and welfare facilities with a stylish atrium style foyer.

ERF, Midpoint 18

ERF - Midpoint 18 (£13.25m)

A 400,000sq.ft manufacturing plant and separate 30,000sq.ft office building constructed on the Midpoint 18 site at Middlewich, relocating the ERF plant.

Eternit Tiles, Phase 3

Eternit Tiles - Phase 3 (£5.32m)

Extension to existing factory to form a clay tile making facility. The civil engineering works compirsed the design and installation of a 250,000 litre storm water attenuation tank and associated drainge. Construction of new access road and surface stockyards for the storage of the finished products.

Greeba Road, Wythshawe

Greeba Road, Wythenshawe (£1.5m)

A 1500m2 extension to an existing distribution facility including a 200m2 service yard and services road. The warehouse has a further 10 Dock Levellers, a side dock leveller and the construction of a ramp for starter trucks. A security gate house was constructed and external lighting upgraded.

Hawarden 3 and 4

Hawarden Plots 3 & 4, Speke (£1.8m)

2 separate buildings subdivided internally into three and two units. The single storey office pods were constructed so that future tenants could have the scope to make use of the 'office lid' as 1st floor storage or further office area with minimal adaptation. BREEAM 'Very Good' 2006.

Helios City Buckshaw Link, Chorley

Helios City Buckshaw Link, Chorley (£10m)

The construction of 8 large industrial units within the Buckshaw Village development. Several units were split forming a total of 20 pods each with ground floor core area and fully fitted out first floor offices. The majority of the units were of single span monopitch construction with some traditional portal framed buildings.

JCB Special Products

JCB Special Products - Cheadle (£6m)

A new manufacturing facility (approximately 150,000 sq.ft) with a separately partitioned off secure, research and development area. Constructed on tubular steel driven piles and reinforced concrete pile caps & ground beams. Steel portal bay construction provided the supporting structure to the building shell. The cladding was to the JCB standard specification.

JCB Transmissions, Wrexham

JCB Transmissions - Wrexham (£6m)

This development required major earthworks and the diversion/ culverting of existing. 3no 42m wide steel portal bays. Over 100,000 sq.ft of shake covered factory floor area provides the facility with associated under floor service ducts, machine and overhead crane supports and sprinklers. Office accommodation included glazed partitions.

Logtek, Crewe

Logtek - Crewe (£2.1m)

A large Industrial Unit adjacent to the main road into Crewe from the M6. The end user, a subsidiary company for Marks and Spencer would provide a pallet washing facility for the north west region. The unit was of steel frame large single span portal construction with a mixture of horizontal built up cladding and composite microrib cladding. Pre-cast dock levellers, pre-cast ground beams and self contained lift.

Merlin Park, Trafford

Merlin Park - Trafford (£8m)

One unit with a minimum of 310,750 sq.ft. including office, toilet and amenity.
Office ccommodation constructed internally at ground level and first floor with an area of approximately 7,500 sq.ft per floor. Externally car parking, service yard etc.

Plot 2700, Matrix Park

Plot 2700 - Matrix Park, Leyland (£4.25m)

The eventual building occupier sterilise medical equipment for the NHS. They had very specific requirements for their fit-out and a lot of the design work was coordinated via our design team. The unit was of steel frame double portal construction with a mixture of horizontal built up cladding and composite microrib cladding.

Plot 3300, Matrix Park

Plot 3300 - Matrix Park, Leyland (£4.4m)

Constructed for Redrow Commercial Developments 4 Industrial Units. Two of the units were split into 4 individual "Terrace" units with minimal fit out with the other 2 units having ground and 1st floor offices. Pochin completed a nuber of the client fit-out items within the agreed programme of works.

Project Galaxy, Acornfield Road

Project Galaxy - Acornfield Road, Knowsley (£12.5m)

465,000 sq.ft High Bay Warehouse with 48no Dock Levellers and 8no. level access areas. There is a 2-storey office space adjoining the warehouse providing 12,000 sq.ft of Grade A office space and 476 car parking spaces. Over 100 articulated wagons can access this area also through a security controlled gate. Over 90no mortar shells were found on site.

Prologis, Crewe

Prologis - Crewe (£8.7m)

New Build industrial warehouse unit completed in 30 weeks comprising of office space and 10 bay level access doors. The unit was of steel frame, large single span portal construction with a mixture of horizontal built up cladding and composite microrib cladding.

Prologis Midpoint 18

Prologis - Midpoint 18 (£4.5m)

A high bay warehouse/distribution unit with offices, extensive yards for lorry parking. 18 doc level doors and 4 level access doors and security lodge. Internally the offices are over two floors with potential expansion options.

Prosperity Court

Prosperity Court (£1.1m)

One building, internally sub-divided into 10no commercial/industrial 'starter' units with associated perimeter access road, car parking and soft landscaping. Each unit has multi use warehouse/manufacturing area with external access via an insulated sectional overhead door, and an office pod with curtain wall feature frontage including entrance door.

Stobart Widnes

Stobart Distribution Widnes (£22.5m)

A chilled distribution warehouse with freezer unit, offices, canteens and welfare facilities with a floor area of 380,000 sqft.
A recycling facility with an equipment washing unit, offices and welfare with a floor area of 113,000sq.ft. Associated Goods In and Goods Out yards, asset storage area, fuel island, vehicle washing unit and parking areas for cars and wagons. Completed to BREEAM Very Good

Tesco Distribution Centre

Tesco Distribution Centre (£24m)

64 dock levellers. Ground floor warehouse, toilets, canteen, restrooms, battery charging room and fully equipped garage. First floor offices, conference facilities and UPS rooms. Externally: car park, gate house, full security fence, fuelling area, weigh bridge, internal and external trailer washing facilities, landscaping scheme and new sewage pumping station. Pochin brought all the services on to the site and constructed a bridge over the river.

Trentham Lakes

Trentham Lakes (£1.6m)

Two small warehouse units with ground floor offices and mezzanine floor for further office or storage. Fully fitted with heating system and comfort cooling. Externally there is a large car and lorry parking facility.

Unit 75, Midpoint 18

Unit 75 - Midpoint 18 (£12m)

The offices (1550m2), are based on 2 floors. The ground floor office space being left open to the massive open warehouse (34202m2) to allow for conversion. The external concrete yard was designed with a one-way system and at either side of the building there is a receiving and a dispatch office with external parking and waiting areas for trailers.

Valley Court, Midpoint 18

Valley Court - Midpoint 18 (£2.25m)

A complex of 45,000 sq.ft. of Business Units comprising 11 units up to 5625 sq.ft. including central delivery yard and individual parking allocation.

Wolseley Distribution Centre

Wolseley Distribution Centre, Chorley (£16.8m)

A 350,000 sq.ft multi-functional regional distribution centre with integrated stacking system. Pochins provided all M&E facilities throughout. Pochins also carried out the CAT B works to the main office accommodation and Goods out offices. The project revolved around secure storage, delivery and distribution and contained over 40 dock levellers and 20 level loading bays.
