POCHIN PROVES POPULAR AT CENTENARY WAY
Following a competitive tender process, Pochin Construction, has won a £9.1million contract in Salford, on behalf of Morson International.
Located on Centenary Way in Eccles, the office scheme, known as the Morson Building, will comprise five storeys measuring a total of 6,545 sq m (70,450 sq ft). The steel frame build will incorporate a standing seam roof and elevations of part rain screen cladding and part curtain walling. The construction work will also involve CFA Piling to foundations, as well as a contiguous piled wall to form the basement.
On the contract win, Jonathan Pochin, managing director comments: "The client asked us to tender for the job having been impressed with our construction methods on the newly-built Centenary House, situated opposite to this site. We have worked with the engineer, Tier and the Architect, AFL on many projects before, which will help us to achieve an excellent end result.
"The project itself is on course to achieve a BREEAM rating 'Very Good' and will include some quite distinctive aspects, including a burnt orange cladding and a rain screen, which will be built on an incline. The project will commence in September and is scheduled for completion at the same time next year."
WHR is acting as sole agent on behalf of Morson International.
