POCHIN’S PLC APPOINTS NEW CHIEF EXECUTIVE
Pochin's PLC has announced the appointment of John Moss as Chief Executive of the Group. The announcement comes as Pochin's prepares to bid farewell to David Shaw, who is to retire after 30 years with the company.
John joined Pochin's 12 months ago with a remit to appraise
each division and provide strategic advice on the restructuring of
the construction arm.
John, who graduated as a civil engineer, became a director of Amec
Civil Engineering in 1990, before becoming managing director of
Amec Civil Engineering Southern in 1995.
In 1999, John became managing director of AMEC Rail, tasked with
turning around this then underperforming division of the Amec
Group.
Said Richard Fildes, Non-Executive Chairman, Pochin's PLC:
"David Shaw has given great service to the Group over a long
period and this will be duly recognised.
"Preparatory to this retirement, the board has been working on
a suitable replacement for the position of chief executive.
John's extensive experience in construction and business
management, coupled with his knowledge of the company, made him an
ideal candidate and we welcome him to the Board."
John continued: "Having worked with the Group for the past
year, I believe that Pochin's is a well positioned company,
with an excellent loyal team and client base. I look forward to
working with Richard Fildes and the other Board members to help
steer the Group through these challenging times, building on its
many strengths."
John will officially start his new role on 01 June 09.
