POCHIN’S SUCCESSFUL RGF BID FOR MIDPOINT 18 AT MIDDLEWICH, CHESHIRE

Pochin Developments Limited has been successful in its bid to secure RGF support to complete the Middlewich Eastern Bypass and their flagship Business Park, Midpoint 18.

The £4.1m RGF bid represents almost 20% of the cost of the Bypass and associated infrastructure works. The remaining 80% will be delivered by Pochin Developments Limited and the private sector. The Bypass is the backbone of the Middlewich Action Plan. This Plan is the much needed programme for local economic regeneration and growth which Pochin is producing in conjunction with the local community.

Commenting on the successful bid, Pochin Developments Property Director, Brian Reay said: "The local community has recognised the need for completion of the Bypass to relieve significant local traffic congestion and allow the Midpoint 18 Business Park to be completed. We have worked closely with Middlewich Town Council, the Weaver Valley Partnership, the Cheshire and Warrington Local Enterprise Partnership and Cheshire East Council to formulate deliverable plans to stimulate economic growth. The successful RGF bid allows us to move towards delivery of over £350m of private sector funding for large scale commercial and residential schemes which will secure local jobs for the long term."

Councillor Jamie Macrae, Cheshire East Cabinet member with responsibility for prosperity, said: "This Regional Growth Fund announcement recognises the local strategic importance of the project to Middlewich and Cheshire East as a whole.

"The bypass is key to unlocking the potential of Middlewich, stimulating economic growth and creating vital and sustainable new jobs in the area.

"It is another example of how the Council is working hard with developers and stakeholders across Cheshire East to help revitalise our town centres and deliver sustainable economic regeneration for the long-term wellbeing of our communities."
