POCHIN TO BUILD PSYCHIATRIC UNIT AT DELFRYN LODGE IN NORTH WALES
Pochin Construction, part of Cheshire-based Pochin's PLC, has been awarded a contract worth just under £3m to build a female unit at the existing psychiatric rehabilitation centre, Delfryn House in Mold, North Wales on behalf of Cambian Healthcare.
Cambian Healthcare is the largest provider of intensive psychiatric
rehabilitation services in the UK and currently treats NHS Patients
from over 60 different PCTs and LHBs.
Delfryn House currently provides 28 beds for male patients in need
of psychiatric support. Pochin has been appointed to carry out the
construction of a new 2,160 sq m adjoining care unit, Delfryn
Lodge, to provide an additional 24 beds and recreational facilities
for female patients.
On the new contract, managing director of Pochin Construction,
Jonathan Pochin, commented: "Cambian Healthcare is the largest
provider of intensive psychiatric rehabilitation services in the
UK, so to win this job when tendering against three other
contractors is great news for Pochin. Work started on site in mid
September and is on schedule for completion by summer 2010. Once
the construction phase is complete, we have also been appointed to
undertake a specialist fit out throughout the new facilities to
meet the needs of the residents."
