POCHIN WINS REPEAT BUSINESS AT HARPER ADAMS COLLEGE
Pochin Construction, part of Cheshire-based Pochin's PLC, has won a £1.2m contract to supply new student accommodation at Harper Adams University College, near Newport, Shropshire.
Harper Adams University College specialises in higher education for the food chain and land based sectors. Pochin was appointed by the University College to construct three halls of residence for students in 2006 and has subsequently been instructed to build a new self-catering hall, comprising 48-beds, for the campus.
The new, three-storey building will be 900 sq m (10,000sq ft) in size and will be divided up to provide two flats on each floor, each with eight bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms and shared kitchen facilities.
On the contract, George Harrison from Pochin Construction, commented: "We have developed a strong relationship with Harper Adams and look forward to supporting the University College as it continues to expand. We have commenced work on site and are on schedule to handover the new building to the college in August this year."
Paul Moran, Estates Manager at Harper Adams University College, added: "It is a pleasure to have Pochin again working on student residences on our campus. This new facility is much-needed, as the demand for places on courses, and therefore for accommodation, grows each year. "
